بحسب “الحرة”، قال الجيش الأميركي إنه دمر ثلاثة زوارق مسيرة لجماعة الحوثي اليمنية خلال الساعات الأربع والعشرين الماضية في البحر الأحمر في إطار “اشتباك للدفاع عن النفس”.
وقالت القيادة المركزية الأميركية في منشور على موقع إكس “”تقرر أن الزوارق (المسيرة) تمثل تهديدا وشيكا للقوات الأميركية وقوات التحالف والسفن التجارية في المنطقة”.
والجمعة، دمرت القوات الأميركية سبع مسيرات ومركبة كانت تُستخدم كمحطة للتحكم في المناطق التي يسيطر عليها الحوثيّون في اليمن.
ومنذ نوفمبر، يشنّ الحوثيّون هجمات بصواريخ ومسيّرات على سفن تجاريّة في البحر الأحمر وبحر العرب يقولون إنّها مرتبطة بإسرائيل أو متّجهة إلى موانئها، مؤكّدين أنّ ذلك يأتي دعما للفلسطينيّين في قطاع غزّة في ظلّ الحرب الدائرة منذ السابع من أكتوبر الماضي.
وينضوي الحوثيّون، إلى جانب حزب الله اللبناني وحركة حماس، فيما يعرف بـ “محور المقاومة” المدعوم من إيران والمناهض للولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل.
وتقود واشنطن تحالفا بحريا دوليا بهدف “حماية” الملاحة البحريّة في هذه المنطقة الاستراتيجيّة التي تمرّ عبرها 12 في المئة من التجارة العالميّة.
ولمحاولة ردعهم، تشن القوات الأميركية والبريطانية منذ 12 يناير ضربات على مواقع للحوثيّين.
وينفّذ الجيش الأميركي وحده بين حين وآخر ضربات على صواريخ ومسيّرات يقول إنّها معدّة للإطلاق.
